How should it change us?

  1. How are you tempted to love the world?
  2. How are you tempted to love the things in the world?
  3. How does the book of Ecclesiastes reinforce what John is teaching in 1 John?
    1. What have you applied from Ecclesiastes that helps you obey John?
  4. How can we help each other obey John's message?
  5. Sing "All Glory to Christ" to one another and to God.

In the Beginning...

Read Genesis 1:1-25

  1. What repeated words, phrases, themes do you notice in this passage?
  2. What happened in the beginning? Who was there already?
  3. How did God create? (Consider stages, steps, actions God takes) 
  4. What did God do with his creation? What does that reveal about him?
  5. What was God's creation like? How does that compare with the world we live in?


  1. What do we learn about God from this passage?
  2. How should we respond to a God like this?
  3. What do we learn about God's words?
    1. How should we respond to them?
  4. Lastly, read John 1:1-5, how does this passage help us understand Genesis 1:1-25 more fully?
