  3. How is God mentioned and described in this passage? If He is not mentioned, what other characters do you see? How are they described?
  4. What commands do you see?
    1. What is the result of these commands?
  5. What imagery do you see? (things like analogies, metaphors, similes, etc.)

INTERPRETATION

What does it mean?

  1. What is a "way" or a "path"?
    1. Why do you think the author describes following wisdom like a "way"?
    2. Why does he also describe wickedness and evil as "paths" and "ways"?
  2. What do you think it means that the path of the righteous is "like the light of dawn"?
    1. How is it that it "shines brighter and brighter until full day"?
      1. What does this mean for us as we grow in wisdom? How long does it take to become wise?
    2. Why is wickedness like darkness?
      1. What happens when someone walks into a dark room and tries to find something?
  3. If you had to summarize the commands in verses 10-19 into one phrase, what would you say? What is Solomon commanding his son to do?
