INTERPRETATION
What does it mean?
The scriptural heading for this song is "A Psalm for Giving Thanks". What does it mean to "give thanks"?
Who is commanded to make a joyful noise?
Why should all the earth praise God like this?
What do we learn about God?
What do we learn about ourselves?
What are "his gates" and "his courts" referring to in Psalm 100:4?
Where can Christians find God's presence today?
Why is God worthy of all of this? (our joyful noises, our serving, our thankfulness, our blessing, etc.)
APPLICATION
What will I do?
What quality of God stands out to you from Psalm 100? (goodness, steadfast love, faithfulness, shepherding, etc.)
How does this motivate you to serve Him?
How can you grow in your knowledge of God this week? (Psalm 100:3)
Do you enjoy singing songs of praise to God?
Is it ever difficult to sing with joy? Why or why not?
What would help you focus your heart and mind on God while singing his praises? How might this change how you sing?
Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
Sing
The King in All His Beauty
to God and to one another.
