Psalm 63 | Bible Study Questions
DAVID REYES
| 25 JULY 2024
OBSERVATION
What does it say?
Read Psalm 63.
What are repeated words and themes in the Psalm?
Who wrote this Psalm? What situation was he in?
What are David's wants or desires?
What shall happen to those who seek his life, and how shall the king respond? [Ps 63:9-11]
How is God described in this Psalm?
INTERPRETATION
What does it mean?
Why do you think David uses themes of food?
What does this show about how he views God?
What does David do to remind himself of God's faithfulness?
What might he be tempted to do instead of meditating on God?
Who is the king mentioned in Ps. 63:11?
Why do you think so?
How did Christ fulfill this Psalm in his life, death, and resurrection?
APPLICATION
What will I do?
What do you tend to do when you're "in the wilderness" or going through hardships?
What can you do to fill your soul in those situations? (or How can you remind yourself of God's faithfulness in those situations?)
What would it look like for you to "earnestly seek" God this week?
How can you help someone else in your life earnestly seek God?
Pray in light of this passage and any applications you've made.
Sing
He Will Hold Me Fast
to God and to one another.
