What is Church Membership?
We believe the Bible teaches that every Christian should be a member of a local church and that church membership is crucial to every Christian’s walk with Jesus. Membership in a church is a formal commitment to the people in the church to live out the Christian life together, and there are 2 pieces of that commitment:
- A Christian submits to the authority and care of the church (as a group of people)
- That church affirms that person in their faith and commits to caring for them
The commitments we make are explained in our church’s covenant, which is a list of biblical promises. It includes things like encouraging each other, loving one another sacrificially, and helping each other fight sin.
What’s the next step?
If you’re interested in membership at Covenant Hope Church, the membership class is a great opportunity to learn more about who we are and what we believe as a church. And everyone is welcome to attend. Attending the class does not commit you to join, or guarantee that you will, but it will be a great opportunity for you to learn more about us!
If you’re interested to be notified when the next membership class will be, please sign up here.
