- Do you notice any repeated words or ideas?
- What can you learn about the Thessalonians through these first 10 verses?

INTERPRETATION
What does it mean?
- What evidence did Paul find that the Thessalonians had responded to the gospel? (1 Thess. 1:3)
- How is each of these pieces of evidence a reflection of Christ?
- Paul says that the gospel came to the Thessalonians not in word only, but also in power, the Holy Spirit, and full conviction.
- What do you think it means that the gospel came in power?
- What do you think it means that the gospel came in the Holy Spirit?
- What do you think it means that the gospel came with full conviction?
- Is it possible for the gospel to go out without these things? What would that look like?
- When the Thessalonians received the gospel, what did they begin to do? (1 Thess. 1:6)
- How does somebody become an imitator of someone else?
- Verse 7 says that the Thessalonians became examples themselves to the region and everywhere. What were they "famous" for?
- How does 1 Thess. 1:9-10 relate to the life of every Christian?

- How might God use you for the gospel to "ring out" in those places?
- Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
- Sing In Christ Alone to God and to one another.
