INTERPRETATION

What does it mean?

  1. Who are the "Fathers"? Wo are "the Prophets"? Who is "us"?
  2. What do you think these last days are referring to?
  3. What are the 2 eras of history that the time indicators are pointing us to?
    1. Why do you think the author wants to draw our attention to?
  4. What do we learn about the Son?
    1. What works has he done?
    2. What's the connection between Father and Son?
    3. How did the Son make purification for sin?
      1. What do you think it signifies that "he sat down" after doing so?
  5. What's the connection between the Son and the Angels?

APPLICATION

How should it change us?

  1. What application does the author give? [no imperatives...]
    1. So then what should we take away from these verses?
  2. Flip ahead to Hebrews 2:1 and read it. This warning gets us closer to the author's main point for the people he's writing to--"Listen" and "Don't fall away"
    1. How might understanding who Jesus is in Hebrews 1:1-4 cause you to "listen" to him and not "fall away" from him?
    2. How can you take steps this week in these things?
