Who are the different people that are with Jesus in this passage?
How does the author describe what happened in the Temple?

How do other people respond to Jesus' signs?

What information or insights does the author give us, that the disciples would not have known when these events took place?

What is significant about the Passover for Jews?
Why would people be selling animals in the temple?
1. Why do you think this made Jesus so upset?
2. Is anger a sin? Why or why not?
3. When is it acceptable to be angry?
What do the people misunderstand in verses 18-22?
1. What similarities or differences do you see in verse 17 and verse 22?
2. For Christians today, where is the temple of God? (John 1:14, 1 Corinthians 3:16)
Do you think it is unreliable to believe in Jesus based on his miracles alone (like in verse 23)?
In verses 24-25, what do you think was in man that Jesus knew?
1. Do you see any connection between this and the reliability of the people's faith in verse 23? What is the connection?

God no longer dwells in a building, but rather in the hearts of his blood-bought sons and daughters. If you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit now dwells in you as God's temple.

Are you tempted to put your faith in miracles, signs, or even people?
