- Why might it be important to start and end a letter of commendation and rebuke with reminders about Jesus?
- Which of the churches seem to be doing the best spiritually? (Notice that the church in Smyrna receives no rebuke).
- What is going on in Smyrna? Are they facing persecution?
- What might this suggest about the Christian life?
- What stands out to you about these 7 churches?

- What kinds of concerns might persecuted churches have for us and our church?

- How can you take steps this week to grow?
- What was most comforting to you in these letters?
