INTERPRETATION
What does it mean?
- What is wisdom compared with in Proverbs 2:4-5?
- What does this tell us about the value of knowing God?
- Read Colossians 2:1-7
- What does Paul describe knowing God in these verses?
- Does wisdom protect the upright? Or does God protect the upright?
- Wisdom is one of the means God uses to protect his people.
- How do we receive wisdom from God?
- What does wisdom deliver people from? (v. 12, 16)
- How would you describe the men in verse 12?
- How would you describe the women in verse 16?
- What are the consequences of following their paths?
APPLICATION
How should it change us?
- Think about the results of a life lived in wisdom before God in verse 9-19 (things like righteousness, discretion, etc.)
- How have you seen these characteristics of wisdom in your own life or in the lives of someone around you?
- What does it mean to know God?
- How can you grow in knowing God this week?
- Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
