- What does it mean that Jesus is the light of the world? (v. 12)
- What do light and darkness signify?
- How does this relate to other things Jesus has said about himself?
- When Jesus says he's going away in verse 21, what else does he add that he didn't say in John 7:34?
- What is the connection between sin and death?
- How do the Jews respond differently to the last time Jesus spoke like this? (John 7:35-36)
- What does Jesus promise in verse 28?
- What does "the Son of Man" being lifted up refer to? (Isaiah 52:13, Numbers 21:9, etc.)

- Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
