What does it mean?

  1. What is wisdom compared with in Proverbs 2:4-5?
    1. What does this tell us about the value of knowing God?
    2. Read Colossians 2:1-7
      1. What does Paul describe knowing God in these verses?
  2. Does wisdom protect the upright? Or does God protect the upright?
    1. Wisdom is one of the means God uses to protect his people.
    2. How do we receive wisdom from God?
  3. What does wisdom deliver people from? (v. 12, 16)
    1. How would you describe the men in verse 12?
    2. How would you describe the women in verse 16?
    3. What are the consequences of following their paths?

APPLICATION

How should it change us?

  1. Think about the results of a life lived in wisdom before God in verse 9-19 (things like righteousness, discretion, etc.)
    1. How have you seen these characteristics of wisdom in your own life or in the lives of someone around you?
  2. What does it mean to know God?
    1. How can you grow in knowing God this week?
  3. Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
