INTERPRETATION

What does it mean?

  1. What are the "things" Jesus has said (that he did not say from the beginning)?
    1. Where is Jesus going? (John 14:12, 28)
  2. Why do you think that the disciples are filled with sorrow by Jesus leaving?
    1. Have you ever wished that Jesus was here with us so that we could talk to him and ask him questions?

APPLICATION

How should it change us?

  1. The Spirit is called the "Spirit of truth". How can you pray more for the Spirit of God to lead you into the truth of His word?
  2. The Spirit has been sent to "convict the world".
    1. Do you see the world around you convicted of guilt?
    2. How can you pray and live in such a way so that the Spirit works to convince your friends and neighbors of their need of Christ?
  3. Pray in light of this passage and about any applications you have made
  4. Sing Holy Spirit to God and to one another.
